Annual Electrical Week Luncheon Highlights
February 8, 2010
Service Award Well Deserved!
At the Electrical Week Luncheon, President Rob Gioia had the pleasure of thanking volunteer
Board Member Mike Knittel, Senior Electrical Engineer for Bergmann Associates, who recently
completed his term as Director of the Electrical Association. Mike completed his maximum
consecutive term with Electrical Association, serving as a Director for 4 years, from 2006 through
2009. During his tenure, he served on the Bowling, Construction & Maintenance Division,
Education and Trade Show Committees as well as the Membership Committee where he served
as Chair from 2007 to 2009. Although Mike is no longer able to serve on the Board per the bylaws,
he will continue to serve on the Construction & Maintenance Division and Trade Show Committees
in 2010.
Board members of the Electrical Association of Rochester serve without financial compensation.
They are volunteers in every sense of the word and without people like them, this association could
not exist. Thank you Mike and thanks to all those who are involved for the betterment of the
electrical community.
The purpose of the Electrical Association of Rochester (EAR) is to
educate the community on the safe and efficient use of electricity
and technology as well as to promote the common interests of the
electrical industry in the exchange of information.

February marks the time of year when the Electrical Association of Rochester, and the entire
community, recall the achievements of Thomas Alva Edison [born February 11, 1847], and honor
the many dedicated people in the industry. Our Annual Electrical Week Luncheon not only is a
tribute to Thomas Edison, but also provides a venue for Monroe County and the City of Rochester
to present a joint Proclamation naming February 7th through 13th as Electrical Week, to recognize
our scholarship recipients, and to recognize board members for their dedicated service to the
Electrical Association of Rochester.
